Graphic Caution – A book of designers’ first breaks.
Graphic Caution’ is a book of designers’ first breaks into the industry, their experiences, mistakes and first ever commissioned design projects. It includes interviews with 18 designers, featuring names such as Craig Ward, Patrick Thomas, Jonas Zieher, Jamie Keenan and many more, along with an additional section of ‘Most Memorable Mistakes’.
This project stemmed from my own concern as a third year graphic design student and the uncertainty which comes with leaving university and landing that first job as a graphic designer.
The book does not intentionally set out to give advice to emerging or established designers, but to give insight and reassurance through hopefully humorous and ironic anecdotes concerning the steps taken to becoming a graphic designer.
